Baby came over to my place early in the morning. Had some precious moments together before
going to the market for lunch. We ate Beef Soup with rice. Could see that Baby was enyoing herself. Went for my piano class at 2pm then we went home.
Soon baby left house at about 3.30pm. I shouldn't have let her go.
The decisive match was at 8.30pm and I had to be at Jurong East at 6pm. Met the rest of the team at Paya Lebar and we were on our way to the Singapore Basketball Center. This was a big math for us because if we win, we're advancing to the next round in the Youth Cup. I was ready to give my 100% for this match. I remember Baby's voice to keep telling me not to give up and play my best.
Everybody was on time. I saw some ex-teammates of mine from Taman Jurong. They all wished me luck.
Tipped off. I didn't play so well in the first half as my stomach was burning. Guess it was due to not having dinner before the game. Baby's voice grew louder in my head during the half time break. I had to concentrate.
I started the second half a nice pass to an open team mate. That got my engine running. Soon I was on a scoring spree. Scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter.
Time winded down and won by a reasonable margin. That's it, we're in the top 16 teams. But this journey is far from over. There are stronger opponents coming our way. No matter how strong they are, my determination will never cease because I know I have Baby's support.
I made my way home after that tiring game and then the phone call came. I rushed home quickly, took a quick shower and Dad drove me to NUH. Baby arrived a while later. She had blood on her hands. I was worried sick.
She was registered and we waited for a total of 4 hours before she could get medical attention and had her wound bandaged up. She's alright now, thank God. All she needs now is some rest and she'll be fine.
Baby tried to be strong and I can say she faired pretty well. I'm sure her road to recovery will be a short one. My baby is strong. She will not disappoint me nor herself.
Baby, I'm sorry I was there when you fell. I wanted to be there. Guess some other people took my place and they were there for you. I'm not leaving you alone again.
